Days of Spring Torture

Many people love this time of year, and I do as well. I just see the pollen in the air, and I see the people weeping with allergies and I wonder how we can like it so much. Then I look and see the beauty, and I feel the air and know, that it is the same in the Fall.

We love the change of the seasons, especially when it is the intense seasons of Winter or Summer. The relief that the changes offer is what I look forward to. I am not a fan of Summer because I cannot cool off, but at least, in Winter, I can dress warm, with layers. Coolness does not come without a machine.

I do love the growing season, though. Fresh vegetables and fruits that are scarce during the Winter come back in the Summer with great bounty. I am able to enjoy better vegetables at better prices or barter to gain other vegetables or fruits. I love living in a small town for just that reason. Grow one thing and your neighbor grow another.

Then you can have extra that you sell so you can afford to grow these things. It is a wonderful time of year. I am praying that I get to grow something this year. You never know with all that is going on. I still have not even cut my grass, much less set up a garden. My son-in-law, that is another story.

He has a garden already planted with plants starting to rise. He is a farmer right! Every year he and my daughter have a beautiful garden with wonderful tasting plants. It is always a blessing to them. I am so grateful that he has done that, and he is good at it too. I always love a good garden.

Life Will Get You...Grief Sucks

It has been a week and I knew I would be busier, but I never thought I would not be able to write beyond my school projects. I miss being here and letting my thoughts out and sharing them. I enjoy the writing process and I hope you enjoy the reading process.

This week was great knowing that I was going to see my grandchildren, but then my dog died. This sucks. Li'l Man has been with me for 15 years and was one of the best dogs ever. He was a Miniature Doberman Pinscher and thought he was a big one.

He brought a smile to my face every time I saw him because he was so cute. He was so loving and accepting of things. He was an old dog that could not get around very well. He was actually 17 years old. I picked him up and took him to all the areas he needed to go every day. We had a routine and he accepted it.

Now, I hear no bark to call me. There is no cute little dog waiting for me to pick him up. No bright little eyes that let me know he loved me. I am going to miss my little fur baby very much. We buried him under the tree that is in memory of my grandfather. It is only fitting to have them together. I think they would have gotten along well.

I still have another dog, and I do not think I am going to replace Li'l Man with another dog. I have Bleech and he is a handful, even though he is seven. He is a Boxer mix and is a beautiful dog, he is just big. It is extreme when he gets excited so he is trained to do most of his playing outside.

I enjoy my animals, but I will also enjoy the peace and quiet that will come along now that Li'l Man is gone. I will find the silver lining that comes with every trial. Learning, after all, is why we are here.

Being Sick

What is the difference in a male and female human when they are sick? No matter how bad the woman feels, she still has to take care of things. If a man feels ill, they are ill and the world should stop. I know this because I have been sick for a long time, and I can find no sympathy, but yet if my hubby is sick, well he is sick and he should be able to take time and feel better, even if it takes a week.

I am allergic to many plants and animals (and I have animals) so you can imagine my health and my issues. I bring it on myself though because I have literally spoiled my husband beyond repair. I knew not to do it, but I wanted to. Problem is, a female does not get to take a break from spoiling her husband.

I also bring the sick allergies on myself because of my animals. I knew not to get them, but I did it anyway. I have to wonder now as I think about things, do we bring our problems on ourselves by the choices we make? Do we expect a different outcome, even though we knew there was a chance that the outcome would be painful?

It is a painful world and there are times that being sick is worse than others, bit when you are in pain and sick, well then that just sucks. I know that as I keep going, I keep going and when I finally stop, I crash. Today was good up until about three and then I got to feeling ill. There are many illnesss that seem to be floating around on the breezes and in public places, and I have been at a doctor's office all day.

I was not there for myself but for someone else and I was not very apologetic about how tired I was because of helping someone else all day and still working and walking and school and blog and email, and I do surveys that pay me to take them. It takes a good amount of time, but I hope that they will soon start paying off.

I think I will take a nap now.

Lovely Day

Do you ever wake up and think wow! What a lovely day. I am so glad to be alive! I hope you do. I feel that way today and I think it is because I will be able to be with my Sisters today. I always enjoy my time with them and I love doing things with them.

The birds are singing outside of my door, and the weather is a cool 58. It is clear and beautiful. I want to speak about this weather because very shortly, I will feel like I am under water all of the time and fighting for every breath of air I take. Summer kills me slowly with my asthma issues and my fibromyalgia.

I love being able to wake up and do something because it is warm enough to move yet cool enough not to stifle. I am a morning person and love to get all my work done early. There are many outside projects that need to be done and most are morning projects.

I leave home at 6 am and take my husband to work because we do not have a second vehicle right now. I am back by 7:30 and am on the computer. I am on here until 9:30 but that is about to change. I am going back to my walking and working out in the yard, and that will take my mornings from the computer.

This means that I will lose time on school work so I will have to stay up later or I will have to give up something that I do on the computer. I do surveys so I can make extra money and I have school, of course, and I have eBay sales and then I have my blogs that I love to write. I have email that will need to be checked in three different areas. I have research that will need to be done for my class assignment and final project.

No wonder I am always sitting at my desk on my hiney.

If my garden looked this good, I may sit out ther and do my work. After all, how pretty is this? LOL It looks like a wild yard and that is what I have. Fits me a to a tee.

Time Off for Good Behavior

I do not take many days off and still enjoy the time. Usually, if I have off, I am busy doing other things that need to be done. TODAY, was a different day. I enjoyed my day off and I do not feel guilty. I worked hard last night to get caught up in school so I could enjoy my time with my husband. It was such a nice reprieve from the monotony that is my days.

I love going to school and writing, but it is so nice to be able to take time and do whatever one wants. Well, you ask, what did I do? How did I enjoy my day off? I went fishing. Trout fishing on the Little Eastatoe River is so fun and relaxing. You just walk up to the hole you want to fish. No need for a boat and not as many snakes as downstate SC.

I admit, I have had better days fishing, since the only thing that bit was the little ones, but it was still a good day. My husband and I came home after fishing and grilled out steaks and alligator tail, and then we took a nap. Today has been a very good day. I needed the time off and just did not realize it. It is funny how things work out.

My husband insisted that we go today and if he had not, I would have still felt like I was slowly losing ground. I felt like I could not get anything accomplished, but today has given me the chance to see, I can still accomplish things and take time for me. I am one that forgets to take time for their selves, and my husband keeps that side of me in check.

Thank God for fishing and Husbands

Drivers and Driving

I have to ask... do you drive selfishly? Do you cut people off in traffic lanes? Do you race ahead in a lane that is closed so you can be ahead of others waiting in the traffic? If you do any of these, then you may be a selfish driver. It is so easy to become selfish when we are driving and when we are in a hurry, even more so.

Our days are busy but that should not give us an excuse to be ugly drivers. Would you act like you do when you drive, in public? Would you cut in line at the grocery store? No, most people would not. So why then do we act like selfish jerks when we drive? What ever happened to road coutesy? After being in traffic all day and finding creative ways to keep my cool, I have decided we are rude and selfish.

My husband always tells me you can tell a person by the way they drive. I really hate to think that we are all that angry and rude. I meet people and do not see the selfishness, but get them behind the wheel of a car, and they become a different person. I know one person that is so sweet they would give you the shirt and shoes they are wearing, but they drive like they are the only ones that matter.

I am not sure what causes this but I do know that I am aware of it and I try to be who I am all of the time. I am a courteous driver that gives way but that just gets me run over. I do not know why we cannot all slow down and maybe rush hour would not be so vicious.  That was funny wasn't it?

March Madness

I know why it is considered March Madness, it is becase the month drives you mad! LOL No I know, it is because of basketball and the tourney's that are being played. I personally have problems with March, though. My allergies start up and my energy goes down because of it. I start yearning to go plant, but it is not time.

It is important to wait until Good Friday, but March gives me cabin fever. I love to go and get dirty in the garden. That was when I had time, though. I am so busy that I barely find time to write my blogs and do my calling in Church. I find that the more time I try to find, the more it slips away. I used to think that the days would never go by, now I think time will never slow down.

I have found that I want to change the time, then leave it. Wouldn't that be great? In March this year, we will enjoy DST and Good Friday. This Means that Easter is the last Sunday of the month. March will be a wonderful month because of this. I will not have to have cabin fever for long. My husband and I would love to have a garden this year, but I may have to rely on the kindness of others to fill my fresh pantry.

The garden is imprtan, but I have a yard from...well you know. My grass is hay. I live near a cow field and the hayseeds have infested my yard so that my grass is thick and tall. IT IS HAY, not grass! This means that I now have to have a bush hog to keep my yard up. This also means that I will have to push cut my grass from now on.

I used to ride it, but the grass kept wearing out my lawn mower. I have not had much luck with the yard. I have given up before on my yard. I pray that this year, I will be able to keep it up, and do everything else I have to keep up with. I am sure that if I plan my time, I can accomplish all things necessary.

I just have to plan, right?

Family Fued

I have often wondered how they can call it Family Feud anymore, then I realized it is because they are still families that play. The thing is, the answers that are given are not family friendly. It is so sad that the answers are so crude that there are times I want to cringe and I am old.

Maybe that is what my problem is. I have become old. I see the things that are put up on that board and I am ashamed but I am so glad that I do not live in Georgia. They ask the hundred for answers to the questions and the answers will, at times, make your hair curl. I see nothing wrong with saying certain things, but the way it is put up on that board will make a sailor blush.

I enjoy watching it and play with it every night, but they have made it so different from when it started that I wonder if it is the same show.

I know this seems like an inane topic, but it is so much better than the topic of what is going on in our country and with the Republicans. The way things are going, there will be no Republican Party when the dust settles. So, I find that inane topics have their place.

I also wonder how I can possibly get the numbers up and the readers to keep coming back. I know I am not here every day, but I am here enough to know that I have a small following and no real +1's.  I will be here as much as I can and I will keep coming back, even if it is an inane topic because I like writing and I like being here.

South Carolina Road Money

I have lived in South Carolina for 44 years now. I have grown up here and I bet some of these roads have not been paved since I moved here. No Really. They are in terrible shape, and I am so proud to say that our government in South Carolina has decided to use the surplus of money that we have instead of taxing us again.

I really wondered why there was a debate about this. There was over one billion dollars extra, and the government wanted to tax us on gas, again. What was the money for? This extra that they had lying around? It was for whatever, so they wanted to what? I am not sure, but I am so glad to say that they did not give themselves a raise.

I am sure that was on the agenda, but from what I understand, that changed because of a radio talk show. It is on in the mornings on 94.5 WYRD. It is called the Tara Show and she said today that because of the publicity that was given to this matter, the vote was to fix the roads with the excess money.

It is so wonderful to have heard the government of a state do right by their constituents. A penny tax increase may not seem like much in the beginning, but that is every single time you go to the pump you pay. That is on every gallon, every single time. Over time, that would add up. I drive a Prius and it would not hurt too much, but I drive one because I cannot afford gas in a different car.

Our roads are horrendous and that is why we allowed the government to raise the gas tax in the beginning. The idea that they wanted to raise it again after just raising it 17 cents is crazy. I might be a little slow on the uptake at times, but excess money should pay for wht is needed, and this time it did.

WOOOHOOO! It is a good day in South Carolina.

Eclectic Thoughts

I have found that my mind is all over the place and I am not sure if I have an issue that I want to speak on. It is all about the politics that are going on, and to tell the truth, I am tired of hearing and writing about it. I am so worried that I just want it all to go back and start over.

That cannot and will not happen, but it does not stop me from dreaming. I was reading a post from my daughter about how 83% of the elected government is up for vote. Well, if you do not like them, vote them out. Problem is, we voted them in and we do not have much to choose from to vote new one's in. What do we do about this? I am not sure.

I am changing topics. I have been looking into indexing for genealogy and was reading how we are giving the identity thieves a way to steal identities. I find this disheartening and sad, just truly sad. So many vibrant minds are wasted in illegal activities. I wonder how we can possibly reach those minds and give them the right track?

I find this to be a better thought than to think that we are letting them waste. Help the youth that are using their minds to do illegal activities and teach them in real-world areas that their talents could be used. The government takes the best hackers and hires them to keep out other hackers, so why not do the same type of gain for those that do other talented crimes?

Is that an oxymoron? Talented Criminal? It really is a truth, though. If the food was worse and the rehabilitation better, maybe we would do better with our youth. It is a thought.
