Selling Yourself

Well we are here today, and I want to talk about eBay. This website has been so great. I have tried Craig's List and I do not like it. Each and every time I have tried to sell something on there, they try to scam me. I was going to say I was scammed, but I did not fall for the scam. It would have been nice to sell all of my Fenton, or the coins that I have listed on  eBay. I know that it takes time to sell and establish yourself as a good seller, but on  Craig's List they allow sellers and buyers that are not upstanding.

I am a person that tries to be ethical, moral, and upstanding in all that I do. I try to deal fairly with my fellow man and not all sellers or buyers do. On eBay they use a system that only allows buyers and sellers that are honest to do business. There are is a rating system that allows one to rate the seller or the buyer, and there is a way that you are contacted in your emails that allows you to be honest and not get scammed.

The money that one uses to pay for the product and the way one's correspondence is only through eBay is a security measure that I appreciate. At Craig's List I was contacted outside of their system. each and every time I listed something. Needless to say, I have not listed much with them.

Learning that I have a bone in my body that wants to bid, and try to beat the other people bidding, let's me know that I should never gamble. I enjoyed the thrill of trying to beat the machine, so to speak. I was bidding, and actually was willing to go over budget, and this scared me. I believe that I could be addicted to the game if I went to Las Vegas. I think this is a good reason to stay away. What about you?

OMG! I am SO Scared

I do not know if I am the only one, but I am so scared of the elections this year. I used to get so excited about the elections, and wanted to vote, so I could complain if the they were not doing what they said they would, or I could say, I did not vote for them so it is not my fault. Now, I am just frightened of the choices that we have.

I have been a Republican, but I am not sure why. Maybe because my parents were, or maybe because the Democrats no longer stand for what they used to. I do not like the idea of people having everything having their basic needs handed to them. I am a firm believer in "by the sweat of thine brow" and the Democrats take that away.

Not everyone is able to work, I understand this. I have no problem helping those who cannot help themselves. I have a problem helping those who refuse to help themselves. I am not saying do away with the welfare system, I am saying drug test the people who are on the welfare program. I know for a fact that there are some that are on drugs. I see no problem with this.

I have to be drug tested to work in any job out there. I see no reason they cannot be drug tested. If it is against any right, then any drug test is against that right. I do not see this issue being addressed in the political arena, and I am sure it will not even make a blip on the radar, but I think it is a fault in our system.

If we get Bernie Sanders, the Socialist, we are doomed. He will try to hand away everything to those who do nothing. This cannot make a feasible economy. Clinton is now guilty of having top secret emails on her server. This means that she has lied to the Americans time and again. So, that is the Democratic choice. I know there has to be someone else running in the Democratic race, but for the life of me I cannot think who it is. I will find out. Martin O'Malley. That is who is running with them. Do not know anything about him, do you?

Now, we have the Republican party. Oh, that is a sad state. The individuals that are running in this party make me want to cry. Really. They claim to be this and that, but really, they are only trying to say what they think we want to hear. Then we have the DT. Donald Trump. He is in your face and he says what he wants to. Many people are drawn to that even though he is not conservative by any means.

This ability to say what he wants and still draw people is because people want to do that, but they are too scared. I do not think people are thinking about how he will create a nightmare in our International Affairs. Saying things that are crass in our culture is an OK thing because we believe in that right. Other cultures do not share that freedom and therefore will take affront to what he says.

I know I would love to say things, but I also know that it is better to be able to pick your battles. How many battles will he have us in? I am not sure how I will vote, but I know I will because it is my right, and I will not give up that right.

Technology and Time

I have a love/hate relationship with technology. I love it and wish I could learn more about creating a better blog, but then I hate it because it takes so much time to accomplish tasks that used to take only a small amount of time.

I remember when the store had prices on the item, and the cashier manually punched in the numbers of the price into the register. The process took only a few minutes, but now, if there is no bar code, or the code had not been scanned, or the sale price was not scanned, etc., all of these create chaos and headaches in the retail industry. Technology was and is meant to make our lives easier, and better, but that is not always the case.

On the other hand, I love it because it allows me freedoms that I would not have. Like a chance at having a job doing what I love, or keeping track of my files. Technology lets me attend school remotely. This is the only way I can go to school and without the technology for doing this, I would not enjoy this gift.

So, now you can see that I have the same relationship that a lot of you do. I admit it. I use technology for my benefit, but I also know that it can be my worst enemy. It can drive me crazy, fix my problems, and remind me who I am. Go figure.

Today is a good day (maybe)

It has been a long time since I have written this blog. I have stayed away from it because I did not want to rant and rave like any other blogger. I wanted and still want to be different, but I also want to be able to talk about what is on my mind. I do not like worrying that a potential or fellow student may read my blog and think less of me, or not hire me. Now, I am going to write because no one reads it and no one cares.

My day has been filled with nothing. This is a crime and a shame. I have done nothing, yet I feel as if I have run five miles. I have fibromyalgia, and yet I do so well most days. No, I am not the person I used to be before fibromyalgia, but I am better than I was before I was diagnosed and it was under control. Today the headaches and the fatigue have been a bit much. They have kept me down most of the day. I have only done the basics of anything to get by today.

This disease is one reason I changed my major in school; I thought I could be a teacher, and keep up with five and six-year-olds, but there is no way. Today's Issue's has nothing to do with my health, yet it is the reason for the changes in my life, that which has brought me to this point. In order to blog, and know that I was doing it right, as well as please the reader, I thought I would learn the proper way to report on the issues.
I now write two blogs. I write about genealogy and family in addition to this blog. I also go to school, and I try to help a few people in the meantime. All of this leads to bad days, busy days, and to be honest, days I am just plain lazy. There are times that shooting me would not get me up and moving. Sad huh? Oh well.

I have been thinking about the idea of Obamacare and the lottery. Both are designed to hurt the less fotunate in this country. You do not see many well off people playing the lottery, and Obamacare made it to where no matter what, you have to have insurance. It does not matter that you make too much money for Medicaid and too little to pay for insurance, and bills, and food, and all of the other things that tend to worry those of us that live paycheck to paycheck.

It also does not matter that you are unable to pay your bills, you are able to buy a lottery ticket and cigarettes. I do not do either, and I live not only paycheck to paycheck, but day to day, yet I feel as if I worked too hard to give it up for just a chance at something better. Now for the cigarettes, that is another rant day, but the lottery is a scam that is aimed at those that want better, but yet seem to think that there is no way out of their circumstances.

I see it everyday and I feel that it is the biggest scam ever. These people stand in line to give a person their money, then they wait to see if a computer has guessed the numbers that will be picked by a game. I do not see it but yet maybe that is because I am scared to gamble. Like I said, I know I have to work hard for what little bit of money I get and I am not giving it away on a chance.
